Daughters of St. Francis
 |
the Daughters of St. Francis of Assisi traveled across the globe to Lacon,
Illinois where they settled and began work on their mission.
They are the founders and current owners of St. Joseph Nursing
Home. |
| They
reside in their Motherhouse which is located adjacent to the
Nursing Home. The Sisters also fill many of the staff
positions and this presence gives a constant feeling of
spirituality and unselfish giving. |
"As the Congregation of the Daughters
of St. Francis of Assisi, our primary goal is the glory of God and the
sanctification of its members by fidelity to our Vows of Chastity, Poverty and
Obedience. Our particular aim is the service of Christ in His poor and sick, as
we strive to imitate St. Francis in his poverty and humility. Our daily life
includes the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Liturgy of the
Hours, Rosary, Personal Prayer. Our apostolate involves us in a variety of roles
of service at our hospital in Missouri, and our nursing home in Illinois. We
strive to live authentic Religious Life as taught by the Holy Father in
conjunction with the Magisterium of the Church."
